  18. ELYSIA ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR THE FUJITSU SCANPARTNER 10 IN ITS
  19. SCANKIT OBJECTWARE

  21. Paris, France, SEPTEMBER 7, 1993 -- Elysia is pleased to announce
  22. support for the Fujitsu ScanPartner10 in its ScanKit ObjectWare
  23. package.  The Fujitsu ScanPartner10 is a 10 page per minute, A4
  24. scsi scanner which can handle up to 256 gray levels with
  25. resolutions of up to 300 dots per inch.  The ScanPartner
  26. incorporates a 50 sheet automatic document feeder.  The ScanKit
  27. also currently supports the Ricoh RS632 (A4) and the Fujitsu M3096
  28. (A3) scanners.

  30. Elysia wrote the ScanKit to allow developers to easily access image
  31. scanners from their NEXTSTEP custom application.  Our customers
  32. have successfully integrated the ScanKit in their custom
  33. application code in a matter of minutes.  A scan daemon drives
  34. scanner hardware in a background processes leaving the application
  35. free for other tasks.  A ScanStylePanel provides for modifying
  36. scanner settings and assigning them a name.  The ScanPanel allows
  37. the user to start a scan job, which may later be paused, resumed or
  38. aborted.  Scanned image data is sent to the application as an
  39. NXImage object.  Sound signals various conditions, such as an empty
  40. paper tray.

  42. The ScanKit is currently shipping for NEXTSTEP/Motorola and will
  43. be available for NEXTSTEP For Intel Processors by the end of the
  44. year.  ScanKit Developer comes with sample code, on-line developer
  45. documentation, and everything you need to build and develop your
  46. ScanKit-based application including all currently supported scanner
  47. drivers.  A demo version of the ScanKit is available upon request.

  49. The ScanKit Developer license is priced at $995.  ScanKit Run-Time
  50. licenses for the Ricoh RS632 and the Fujitsu ScanPartner10 are
  51. priced at $349.  The ScanKit Run-Time license for the Fujitsu M3096
  52. scanner is priced at $439.  VISA or Mastercard accepted.
